Rave-Keith Rochards Writes "I Can't Get No Satisfaction"

One night on the Rolling Stones third US tour, Keith awoke in his room at the Gulf Motel in Clearwater, Florida with a riff in his mind. He played the riff into his tape recorder beside the bed and went back to sleep. The next day, Keith explained to Mick that the words he'd thought up were "I can't get no satisfaction." Neither Keith nor Mick wanted the finished song released as a single, but they were outvoted. It became the Stones first number 1 hit.
