Never Go Shopping Hungry

IHL Consulting Group polled 1,000 shoppers nationwide on the items they grab while waiting in the check out lane. Items women typically buy from check out displays add up to about 14,300 calories every year, which equates to about 4 lbs in added weight. Men average about 11,000 calories which is enough to gain about 3 lbs. And males under 25, the biggest impulse buying group, pick up enough snacks to add 8 lbs.

The most tempting items for women under 25 are non-chocolate candies. For all other women, IT’S CHOCOLATE BABY!

Sniff Before You Bite

Chocolate is best consumed at room temperature. Before you bite, break off a small piece, sniff it and note the aroma. Then place it into your mouth and resist the temptation to chew. The only real way to bring the flavor out is to let it melt on your tongue.

With more than 1,500 compounds, chocolate so complex, your taste buds may detect many flavors.
