False Advertising in Air Travel

Here is my beef. If you travel, any amount, you can unfortunately assume you will be late. 9 out of my last 10 trips have been delayed. Now I know things can happen. Weather, repairs, etc. But 9 out of 10 times. Please!

What is really galling is when the board at the gate reads on time departure. The website however reads delayed for 30 minutes, which turns into an hour. You look outside and see the plane sitting at the gate. Hum..... or worse, your plane disembarks from the gate only to sit endlessly on the tarmac.

When you buy your airfare, you purchase a flight that is listed with a specific time for departure and arrival. So, if the airline misses this timing continuously, aren't they falsifying the departure times? Shouldn't we get a refund? If the ticket is a contract and they have failed to perform on this contract, shouldn't we be entitled to some form of compensation?

Where is the fairness in travel. If I am late to the gate, they close the gate and will not admit me. I am out the money for my ticket. Okay, then what about a quid pro quo? If I am there and the airline is late, then I should get my ticketed amount returned.

All I am asking for is either deliver what you promised when sold me the ticket or return to me my money for not performing as promised.
